Delete your account

Resonate is a place to log albums, write reviews, and talk about music. You can delete your Resonate account and the data in it at any time, from the app or from this page. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.

How to delete your account

1. Sign in to Resonate.
2. Open Settings, then Account.
3. Choose Delete my account and type DELETE to confirm.

We ask you to sign in because that is how we know the account is yours. If you signed up with Google and can no longer get into that Google account, email hello@melihonat.dev and we will delete it for you.

What is deleted

• Your profile, picture, banner, and username, which is freed for anyone to take
• Every rating and review you wrote, including the numbers, so album averages change
• Your lists, the albums in them, and every like you gave or received
• Your comments, your messages, your follows, and your notifications
• Your email address, which is free to sign up with again

What stays, and why

• Listening Club picks you curated stay in the club’s history without your name or your note, because other members’ ratings and discussion point at them.
• Messages other people sent you stay in their own inbox, because those are their messages. The conversation freezes and shows you as a deleted user.
• A comment of yours that other people replied to leaves an empty placeholder, so their replies do not disappear along with it.
• If anyone reported you, we keep that report without the reporter’s name so we can act on repeat safety problems.

How long anything is kept

What we can promise is that we delete everything we hold and that our email provider ages its own copies out. Questions before you decide? Email hello@melihonat.dev.
