First listen had me down a little bit because I think Forrest is gone?!? I'm not a big fan of when a band of 2 people split leaving one person to become the whole identity of the band. Just go by your own name or stage name at that point. The other guys voice is a bit generic and although Forrest's voice wasn't always the extreme highlight, now it does feel a bit more bland. On my second listen I started to feel a bit more appreciation for this. The songs still have that warm fuzzy feeling that you would expect from Surfaces but does still lack some of the more interesting electronic elements that frequent the albums. I'm not sure why this was more acoustic but overall it doesn't cost that album that much in general. Several songs are catchy and feature some decent song writing. Nothing downright bad. Just kind of forgettable at times but he overall vibe is why we are here anyways.
