Preflyte really is up there in my head with Fifth Dimension for the crown of my favorite album by The Byrds. Originally not quite released as a "Byrds" album, rather under each of the individual members names (though many reissues have it under The Byrds, as well as original pressings have Roger as "Jim McGuinn" despite the fact he had changed his name around 1967 and this was originally released in 1969.) Overall I find this album to be very peaceful. If you like early Byrds (think Mr Tambourine Man and Turn! Turn! Turn!) and want more of that, especially with some more soft but still fun and energetic folk rock tunes, this is a really good album for that. You aren't going to get the strongest Byrds material to ever exist, but you'll get some of my favorites and this album is deserving of the praise it recieves.
