A more vocally restrained Ariana has put together a smooth, sonically pleasing album here. I think it is lacking some stronger, more memorable vocal performances that previous albums had though. I am glad to see that even with the dogpiling she is receiving at the moment, she can still put out quality music like this. Favourite Tracks: - hate that i made you love me - petal - like i do

Very impressed with this album, I really haven't heard music like this being performed before. Production is great, as a drums guy I got my money's worth for sure. All in all I don't love every song but this will definitely be in rotation for me!

started pretty good but quickly divulged into songs I wasn't thrilled to listen to.

it’s like if Positions had a darker tone, with the harmonies that made Eternal Sunshine stand out, and the experimentation that made Sweetener a top Ari album! It’s crazy how you can feel a bit of every Ariana album in this one. It had possibly her best album opener yet, and the interlude is a strong competitor against ES’s intro. I feel the album had a strong run, started to stray a bit after “stay” and “oh well”, but began to pick right back up with big feelings. At first i thought the interlude was so good it was almost disappointing, as it ended right as it was getting amazing. But then it led straight into like i do. my GOODNESS. they go hand in hand perfectly. The only other “dip” (as in, still pretty good, but not my personal cup of tea) was..well, I didn’t expect bad thing to sound like quarantine-era indie pop. I ate that up in quarantine, don’t get it twisted, but bad thing sounds a bit dated for my taste! Overall, I ate up every song on this album as an Ariana fan. This has gotta be in her top 3 albums for sure…Positions and Sweetener are threatened by this banger. I only didn’t add 3 songs on my playlist while listening. Every single other song was added. This rules. I will admit, the title track sounded a bit stronger live with the drums bumping loudly. I wish it sounded like that on the album. On vibes alone this is a solid 4/5 from me :)
