Koastle is like a blast of nostalgia. It couldn't sound more like the 2010's Future Bass wave that took over mainstream pop. There are a few differences for the better, though, which is why I do like this album so much. At it's core, it is just that. A 2010's-centric Future Bass/Pop album but the tech of the music world has made production like this easier and the building blocks have been laid down by the pioneers of the subgenre so now artists like Koastle who can try to do more in the genre. Essentially, this feels like the next logical step from Future Bass. Hell, "Veins" is literally just a cleaner, sharper version of "Never Be Like You" by Flume. It's actually eerie how similar it is. But that's not a complaint. I actually love both songs. Maybe it's just been so much time since I was into this style of music, that I'm willing to forgive some of the copy and pasting from it's inspirations but I swear to god that there is some extra spice sprinkled into some of these songs that give the production a bit more originality than it's predecessors. I don't expect Koastle to really become that large of this but it's a good throwback.
