What more can be said about this album really. It's a great album, that gets even better with each listen. Timeless, essential, flawless. Favourite Tracks: - Paranoid Android - Subterranean Homesick Alien - Exit Music - Let Down - Karma Police - No Surprises
Jeff Buckley
Sorry, where has this album been my whole life? Had previously heard only Hallelujah, and assumed the rest of the album would sound the same. Hallelujah is an incredible song, but a whole album sounded taxing so never got around to listening to the full thing. Now here I am in my 30s discovering potentially one of my favourite ever albums. The songwriting is great, the vocals both powerful and desperate. Instrumentally gripping, and I can't wait to learn some of these songs going forward. Great stuff. Favourite Tracks: - Grace - Last Goodbye - So Real - Hallelujah - Lover You Should Come Over - Forget Her
Michael Jackson
First time listening to this front-to-back. This really is a perfect pop album. The funky openers lead into an all-time four track run. Seriously The Girl Is Mine through to Billie Jean is possibly the strongest four track run I can recall hearing on a pop album. It's all catchy, mood-lifting, danceable tunes from start to finish. No skips.
Alice In Chains
I've listened and watched this set so many times now, and I still stop and watch every time. The stripped back, acoustic sound produces such a haunting sound that combines with the general context of the performance (being one of Layne's last) and makes for a one of a kind listen. Essential listen for rock fans. Favourite Tracks: - All Of Them
Arctic Monkeys
I forgot how much I enjoy this album. I must say I much prefer this sound here to their more modern sound. Timeless indie rock with heaps of personality, and super catchy. No skips on this one. Favorite Tracks - All of them tbh but if I had to choose.. - Fake Tales of San Francisco - Still Take You Home - Mardy Bum - When The Sun Goes Down
Linkin Park
First time listening to this in full since my teen years. Forgot that literally every song on here is a heater. The hits are great, but I had forgotten about all the in-between songs that also hold their own. The dual vocals, catchy hooks, chunky breakdowns, angst filled lyrics. It's all so good. No skips. Favourite Tracks: - All of them.
Deftones
Better Than I Remember. My first time listening to this, probably since my early 20s. This album rules. The heavy riffs, the ethereal vocals, the screaming, it all goes together so well. This album also hosts one of my favorite songs of all time in Sextape, which I really think should have been the closer. Favourite Tracks: - Diamond Eyes - Royal - CMND/CTRL - You've Seen The Butcher - Beauty School - Rocket Skates - Sextape*
