My favourite of The Wrecks EPs and each time winter comes round, I find myself instinctively coming back to it. Released in Dec 2020, conveniently the same time I was going through a similar experience in the EP in such an emotionally driven year after we had all been locked away in our houses. The EP goes through from the titular/opening track Static where we are given the underlying story for the EP (a relationship that is on the edge of a break up and how one’s internal issues they face can influence the external pressures & challenges in relationships) to the slower closing track, Try To Remember. TTR covers the acceptance that the relationship is truly over but not forgetting all the special parts that came with it and asking the same of your counterpart. Good For Nothing remains my favourite track after these 5 years, the time after where you are your most angry at the breakup wanting to rid of their name and all the memories you shared for good. A strong contrast to TTR
